A new light came on.

I heard yall on Crown today. I received my degree in photography in May of 1989. I had a studio for a short while. I didn't enjoy it at all. I am an avid biker, CMA member (Christian Motorcyclist Association), devoted husband and father. I have been praying for direction for some time. I know that God has given me the talent to take pictures. I know that God has given me a love for the lost. I know that I have to make a living and provide for my family. I kow a lot of things. But, I didn't know how all of this could be melded together.

After hearing you today, It finally clicked how all of the talents and loves God has given me could be put together. I instantly had a desire to start my photography again. I remember saying to my wife " I will never do portraiture again". Today I came home and said "I'm going to do portraiture again". My wife just smiled and said "I love you, I knew you would." Of course, I'm proceeding with much prayer and supplication. I don't even have a suitable camera right now. But, that will come. Thank you for what you do and what you believe in.

God Bless you.

Wow! That is such a great thing to hear.

Very humbling, I am glad our interview inspired you to follow your passion.

There are literally DAYS of free material you can find online to help you get started. An important first step: Start taking pictures. LOTS of pictures. Then go take some more.

Don't expect over night success. Just diligently move toward your goal. Pray on it and don't get discouraged.

When you post some work be sure to check back in a link to it. I would love to see it.

A small known fact. Facebook is the number one photo sharing site on the internet. You could start there by making a fan page.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your encouragement.
What kind of free material are you talking about. I've been out of the biz for over 14 yrs. Back then it was still pretty much film not digital. Many trips to Pounds Lab. : D

Thank you again.

I'll get you some pics that I have already taken.

The B school costs $10 a month but you will find a wealth of information and people willing to help. Google some others. Lbobi is a great community and many interesting links are available here.
