iPhone Superiority
I love my iPhone. My wife calls it my mistress, so I named it Jennifer. (That was the first chick name to come to my mind.) I'm rather the iPhone snob, too. This talk of Google's phone and other competitors makes me laugh like Dr. Evil. Never will my loyalty be taken from all things Mac. (Unless, of course, Mac puts a ridiculous green "start" button on the lower left side of my desktop. At that point, I will opt for legal pads.)Here are a few reasons why I LOVE my iPhone, then I will move on to my top 5 apps. First of all, it does not have an absurdly stratified menu like Blackberry. My wife's Canadian, so she's very sentimental towards Crapberry's - uh hem - I mean Blackberry's. (Pardon my Freudian slip.) If you've ever owned a BB, you know the intense frustration of trying to find something under the Help menu. iPhone is the first mobile I've ever owned and not had to reference a user manual...ever.
Another reason why it is profitable to buy an iPhone - and I mean that both metaphorically and literally - is that it's actually worth something a year or even two years later. Try to Ebay your Motorola or Nokia or even your BB after six months of ownership. Nobody wants it. Sell a two-year-old iPhone and people come out of the woodwork.
Briefly, I will now mention a few apps that make the iPhone experience multifaceted:
1. Dragon Dictation: I'm really trying to stop texting while I'm driving. I don't want to kill anybody and Dragon Dictation allows me to dictate my texts. And it works brilliantly, even allowing me to add punctuation.
2. Livestrong: This is a Lance Armstrong app that allows you to track your calories. I'm perpetually 20+ lbs overweight. And I have no idea what the calorie value is of the foods I consume. This app is amazing in that I can simply enter anything from a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to a chicken caesar salad at Red Lobster and the calorie count is automatically entered onto "My Plate" for the day.
3. Mover: I love mover. All you need is a WiFi connection and you can send a contact or photo to another iPhone. And, upon reception, the contact/photo is automatically entered into that person's address book or album.
4. USA Today: Like many of my generation, the news paper has given way to online news outlets. I find online mobile news still a bit frustrating, besides the fact that Safari for iPhone is an amazing browser that allows me to view news in non-mobile format. USA Today is an incredible app streamlined for iPhone. Check it out.
5. YouVersion: I wanted a great Bible app to keep up with daily reading and, if possible, view texts in multiple translations. YouVersion is the best BIble app out there for personal inspiration. (This is actually my #1 app.)
Appreciate what you've got if you own an iPhone. And, if you don't, for Pete's sake, dump your Blackberry (and PC) and enter into the thrill of a lifetime.

Amen, brother! I love the YouVersion Bible. Use it every day.
I just learned about Dragon Dictation last night, from our waiter! I pulled out my phone and d/l'd immediately!
I looked far and wide for a reason not to buy the iphone and found nothing that matched what it can do. I love my 3GS. Favorite Apps, in no particular order, are: ESPN ScoreCenter, Twitterific, Youversion, Pandora, PandoraBox, and the Miss State Cowbell App, because I often have a fever for more cowbell.
oh, and...
Love, Todd
